Also, babies who were born by mothers who maintained a healthy diet and exercise regime often get out of the hospital earlier, according to the report.

And of course, you should not be exercising heavily while pregnant. Doctors recommend brisk walks of up to 20 minutes and very light yoga if you want to keep in shape while pregnant. Exercising regularly will significantly decrease your chances of becoming overweight while pregnant, the study finds.
