A Simple Raw Diet

A raw diet includes uncooked or barely heated food.

The diet is vegan and eliminates meat, fish, poultry and dairy. Raw dieters also avoid processed foods containing artificial flavors or preservatives. Creating a balanced raw diet is challenging, but possible and delicious. Choosing fresh, healthy food with sufficient vitamins and minerals is the main concern of raw dieters. An adequate raw diet aids weight loss efforts, increases energy and improves overall health.

Juice and Fruit

Fruits and vegetables are the main staple in a raw food diet. Blending these into juice creates a tasty and nutritious meal. Since raw diets are limited, it is important to add variety whenever you can. Instead of just strawberries and bananas for the morning meal, blend them into a smoothie.

Vegetables and Salads

Salads are a big part of the raw diet. Salads make it possible to prepare a dish loaded with vitamins and minerals without growing bored from bland flavors. If a typical salad features only lettuce, tomato and cucumber, there are plenty of additions available. Adding colorful fruits and vegetables, protein and herbs to your salad makes it healthier. Prepare a salad featuring raisins, cashews, pistachios, sesame seeds, apple chunks, grapes, berries, mushrooms, thyme, crushed red or black pepper and cilantro for a healthy, delicious meal.
