What Are The Healthiest And Most Unhealthy Nuts?

Everyone knows that nuts can be very healthy snacks, especially if they are unsalted and not prepared in any specific type of way that might add calories to the equation.

But not all nuts are the same. While nuts are definitely healthy snacking options, you should never eat too many. Remember, nuts also pack a lot of fat and plenty of calories, so don’t gorge yourself. And of course, stay away from nuts with sugary or salty toppings.

If you want to eat the healthiest nuts, go with almonds, pistachios, and cashews. You will be getting a lot of protein and fiber with these options. Almonds are the lowest calories nuts per ounce, and cashews and pistachios come in second and third respectively.

If you are on a diet and trying to watch your calories, then it is best to stay away from pecans and macadamia nuts. They are still good when it comes to fiber, omega-3 fatty acids and protein, but they have a lot more calories than any other nuts on the market.
