Essential Items For Your Every Workout

First of all, always bear in mind that the most important thing you need for a successful workout is primarily motivation and persistence. Dedication and the creation of good habits are just as crucial, and the truth is that a regular exercise regime will change with time as will the way you live and think, in a positive way. Beside these inner traits, other factors are very important to your exercise routine, equipment being one of them.

This doesn’t mean that you need to spend hundreds of dollars in order to “work out” properly, because your exercising has everything to do with you, not your accessories. With that in mind, here are basic items for working out in a gym or outside of it.

Good quality workout clothes are quite significant, even though some people don’t deem them so. Good gym clothes will make all the difference for your body, especially if you have sensitive skin. Nobody really wants to fight their way through everyday skin irritation, not to mention chafing, zits and other skin-related issues. This is why it is important to have clothes that will enable your skin to breathe and make you feel good during your workout, instead of feeling nervous and squeezed, while sweat is pouring from the places you didn’t know existed. One other note – keep your workout clothes clean, wash them regularly to prevent the nasty smells that are sometimes hard to uproot.

Comfortable shoes/sneakers are another must. Whatever your reason for exercising might be, wherever you work out – at home, at the gym, outside running, you have to know you can rely on your feet. Good running shoes can be a bit of an investment, but they will pay out every time you avoid an injury or a slip. Even if you are just exercising at home, put your shoes on, it will be much more stable for your joints and your feet, ankles and knees will be safe from injuries. Your feet are your base of support, which means it is important to take good care of them by securing them in comfortable and pliable, yet stable shoes.

Water/shaker bottle might be a given, but it is surprising how many people actually forget about it. Keeping your body hydrated during and after the workout is a very important element of keeping your body in optimal shape. You should keep your water bottle always close to you, strapped on to your leg if at all possible, so you don’t forget to hydrate. If you don’t drink enough water during the day, you might forget about it during your workout, but that can lead to fatigue and not using your resting periods the best way possible.

Towels are another essential item, especially if you are no stranger to sweating heavily. You don’t have to get big, heavy ones, but have a couple in your gym bag just so you don’t look like just got out of the swimming pool.

Running watches are a blessing for every running aficionado, and if you are thinking about giving running a try, a running watch will simultaneously motivate you and keep you on track. If you can get one with a GPS, to track how many miles you have run, you are more than set for your running adventure.

Music player is an oldie, but goodie when it comes to basic workout equipment, and you can either fill your phone up with energetic tunes to motivate you throughout your work out, or you can get a music player in case you don’t want your phone to get all sweaty.

Resistance bands are an amazing substitute for dumbbells, and they are much lighter to carry around. If you are working out at home, then good quality resistance bands will be a life savior, and will work both on your agility and strength.

Liquid bandage is miracle of science that will provide you with the temporary new skin, when your permanent one gives in and cracks under too much strain. Blisters, falling and hurting ourselves unintentionally is a part of human nature if would seem, but liquid bandage prevents your wounds, no matter how small, get infected and it stops the pain almost momentarily.

Anti-chafe balm is there to help you with problems you just don’t foresee – chafing and blistering. When somebody tells you that chafing isn’t that big of a deal, they didn’t experience a serious case or continual skin-to-skin rubbing and what a hell it can be. Anti-chafe balm can be used for any part of your body, and it’s especially recommended for the area between the thighs, which is incredibly sensitive to sweat and pain.

To this list you can add whatever you seem fit, but these are some essential workout items you should always keep in your gym bag, or at least close at hand.
